Two other pedestrians struck in Bethesda and Ashton, hospitalized over the weekend
First responders on the scene where a pedestrian outside a broken-down vehicle was struck in Ashton on Saturday night.
A pedestrian was taken to a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Silver Spring on Monday morning, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer said.
The incident occurred at about 6:15 a.m. in front of the Blair East Apartments in the 1200 block of East West Highway. Piringer did not know the nature of the injuries or identifying information about the pedestrian.
Two other people in Montgomery County were hospitalized after vehicles struck them over the weekend, according to rescue officials.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, a pedestrian was taken to a hospital after being struck near Old Georgetown Road and Beech Avenue in Bethesda. The person’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
On Saturday night, a vehicle struck a person outside a broken-down car on New Hampshire Avenue in Ashton near Olney. Three vehicles were involved, and two people were taken to the hospital as trauma patients, including the person struck outside the vehicle, according to Piringer.
